What is Ethereum?

Ethereum is known as a cryptocurrency, but can also be thought of a programmable money. It is the internet of money. Ethereum is a software platform that also acts as a form of money. Ethereum is decentralized and is not run by one centralized party. It is worked on and updated by the Ethereum foundation. Ethereum works as a self executing contract. It allows money to say "if this happens, then that needs to happen next." Ethereum runs many dapps, defi, NFTs and many more uses. 

Is Ethereum a Token or a Coin or a Currency?

It depends on who you ask, but in general, Ethereum can be considered a Coin or some use the term, Cryptocurrency. Many tokens can be created on the Ethereum blockchain. The broad term that can be used is Digital Asset. Digital Assets is the all encompassing term that can include, tokens, coins, NFTs, etc.
